Wyatt Builds successfully completed a new two-story classroom and storm shelter addition for Hewitt-Trussville Middle School. Despite being built during the school year, our team successfully minimized disruption, ensuring the safety of students and staff throughout construction.
Project Highlights
This addition provided both classroom space and a reinforced storm shelter to enhance safety for the schcool community. The classroom addition was designed to integrate seamlessly with the existing school infrastructure, providing modern finishes. It updated mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems to meet the evolving needs of the school district.
Safe, Functional and Built To Last
The project utilized durable concrete block wall construciton with a brick veneer exterior complemented by aluminum windows and a storefront system. The structure features a composite deck system on a structural metal frame topped with a membrane roof. Interor finishes included painted concrete block walls, acoustical tile ceilings and a variety of floor finishes such as hard tile, vinyl and carpet.
